Sun 10/2: Mostly sunny. High near 80. One model shows a chance that some clouds may move in during the afternoon.

Weekend Weather Forecast for Sat 9/17 and Sun 9/18
While Ophelia will not directly affect us, moisture associated with the system will linger in our area through much of Saturday. The cold front which had been expected to move the humidity and heat away has slowed down.

Sat 9/17: Showers ending in the early morning, perhaps before daybreak. Then partly cloudy with brightening skies into early afternoon. Some sun possible in the afternoon. The warm air lingers. High 87.

Sun 9/18: Partly to mostly sunny. Still warm. High 83.

Weekend Weather Outlook for 9/17 and 9/18
The models still handle Ophelia quite differently. The GFS and NOGAPS have a weak disturbance developing on a cool front that will move through on Saturday. Low confidence with this forecast, especially for Saturday.

Sat 9/17: Cloudy with a chance of showers. Most of the showers likely in the morning, but timing cannot be pinned down at this time. High 72.

Sun 9/18: Mostly sunny and pleasant. High 77.

Weekend Weather Outlook for 9/17 and 9/18
Much uncertainty with the current forecast. The NOGAPS and the GFS are extremely different on how they handle Ophelia this week. The NOGAPS has the storm falling apart near NC, then the tropical moisture gets caught up in a frontal passage on Saturday, giving us heavy rains. The GFS has the storm moving up along the coast and out by the weekend. I still prefer the NOGAPS with hurricanes, but its handling of the storm looks weird. Can't pin down the forecast yet.

Weekend Weather For Sat 9/10 and Sun 9/11
A beautiful weekend remains on tap for the us. High pressure continues here in the northeast. No change seen.

Latest NOGAPS model has Ophelia remaining off the coast of SC for much of the early part of the week, intensifying and then moving inland Thursday near NC or SC. Afterwards, it will move up the coastline affecting our area, perhaps on Friday. The hurricane path continues to change, but the trend is moving inland further north with greater intensification.

Sat 9/10: Sunny and warm. High upper 70s to near 82.

Sun 9/11/: Sunny and continued warm. High near 82.

A beautiful weekend remains on tap for the us. High pressure continues here in the northeast. No change seen.

Tropical Storm Ophelia is likely to become a hurricane again over the weekend or soon thereafter. The latest NOGAPS has Ophelia making a complete circle and heading in towards Georgia or northern FL next week, about Tuesday. The remnants may affect us later next week.

Sat 9/10: Sunny and warm. High upper 70s to near 80.

Sun 9/11/: Sunny and continued warm. High near 80.

Weekend Weather For Sat 9/10 and Sun 9/11
A beautiful weekend remains on tap for the us. High pressure continues here in the northeast. No change seen.

Tropical Storm Ophelia is likely to become a hurricane over the weekend or soon thereafter. While the GFS has the storm heading out to sea, I really find the NOGAPS model is incredible with hurricanes and accurately predicted the track of Katrina. The latest NOGAPS has Ophelia making a complete circle and heading in towards SC or northern FL next week, about Wednesday.

Sat 9/10: Sunny and warm. High upper 70s

Sun 9/11/: Sunny and continued warm. High low 80s.
