Weekend Weather Outlook - Mon PM
Nice but meterologically boring weather will be with us through the coming weekend and next week.

Very warm (ok, hot) weather will be with us on Wednesday, as a strong southwesterly flow of hot humid air moves parallel to an approaching cold front.

The cold front will move through from late Thursday through Friday. High pressure with cool and dry temperatures will be here on Saturday.

    Weekend Weather Forecast
Light showers are to our west. Neither the NAM nor the GFS captured this feature, which is due to some lift developing well in advance of a cold front in western PA.

With this feature not properly forecast by the models, it's an uncertain forecast for the remainder of the day. Both the GFS and NAM have some clouds and even some very light showers/spits later this afternoon, by 5 PM.

Sat 9/22: Cloudy with light showers in the morning, partly cloudy this afternoon with another chance of showers/spits this afternoon. High 84

Sun 9/23: Sunny warm. Less humid. High 83

    Weekend Weather Outlook- Tues AM
A dry high pressure-dominated pattern will be with us through the weekend. Warmer temperatures are expected towards the end of the week and over the weekend, as some humidity also makes it back into our area.

Sat 9/22: Sunny warm and a bit humid. High 86

Sun 9/23: Sunny warm and humid, High 87

    Weekend Weather Outlook - Fri
A strong cold front will pass through our area early Saturday morning. The latest NAM has about one quarter of an inch of rain 8 AM on Saturday, with rapid clearing afterwards. The GFS is much drier, with almost no rain for us.

Based on radar and recent similar scenarios, I think some precipitation is likely with this frontal passage, so I'm leaning towards the NAM model here. Sat 9/15: Showers, ending before 8 AM, then rapid clearing late morning, with partly sunny skies. Some instability cloudiness in the afternoon. Windy and cool. High around 69.

Sun 9/16: Mostly sunny, some afternoon fair weather clouds. Breezy and very cool. High 65

    Weekend Weather Outlook - Thurs
A strong cold front is expected to move through on Saturday morning. Earlier model runs had moisture and precipitation associated with the recent weak hurricane to move into our area, but the latest NAM and GFS models keeps the precip to our north and south.

Sat 9/15: Cloudy and breezy in the early morning, chance of an early shower, but not very likely at this time. Then partly sunny, windy and cool. High in the mid 70s.

Sun 9/16: Mostly sunny, some afternoon fair weather clouds. Breezy and cool. High 70.

Weekend Weather Outlook - Fri PM
The tropical system that had been expected to develop over the weekend along the coast appears to have fizzled out. Little or no precip is expected this weekend, as this disturbance will fade into a diffuse low that may affect us during the Monday through Wednesday timeframe.

In the meantime, very hot and humid weather will be with us, more reminincent of August than September.

Sat 9/8: Mostly sunny, very warm and humid. High 87.

Sun 9/9: Partly to mostly sunny, hazy, hot and very humid. High 89. Some cloudiness may move in during the late afternoon.

    Weekend Weather Outlook - Thurs
A southerly flow of increasingly humid will begin to affect us. Outflow of tropical moisture from a developing storm will mix in over the weekend giving us very humid conditions.

As for the tropical system that will develop along the coastline of SC, the current NOGAPS and GFS is looking less impressive, with most of the precipitation offshore and not approaching until later on Sunday.

Sat 9/8: Partly sunny, warm and humid. High 89

Sun 9/9: Considerable cloudiness, some breaks of sun. Warm and very humid. High 86. Showers should wait for later in the day.

Weekend Weather Outlook - Wed PM
A southerly flow of increasingly humid will begin to affect us. Outflow of tropical moisture from a developing storm will mix in over the weekend.

A blocked pattern in the Atlantic will allow the development of a tropical storm off of the South Carolina coast and will cause the storm to move up the coast. There are big differences between the models, with the NOGAPS holding off the rain until Monday, while the latest GFS has the storm moving up to NJ by Sunday, with showers in PHL and heavier rain in NJ.

The NOGAPS is my preferred model for tropical storms. We'll see what happens.

Weekend Weather Outlook - Tues PM
Beautiful Fall weather will continue through the week, as only weak cold fronts are expected to pass through. Humidity levels should increase.

The major models have caught up with the NOGAPS and are predicting the development of a tropical storm along the Atlantic coastline. The NOGAPS and GFS delays this feature until Monday, but some models are suggesting it willa affect us on Sunday. Too early to tell. If and when this does come up the coast, we will likely see some heavy rain.

    Weekend Weather Outlook - Monday
Beautiful Fall weather will continue through the week, as only weak cold fronts are expected to pass through.

Hurricane Felix shouldn't affect the US mainline, staying in Central America.

The Navy NOGAPS suggests a tropical storm or weak hurricaine forming in the western Atlantic during the end of next week. Too far away to really concern ourselves at this time.

    Weekend Weather Forecast- Sat PM
A beautiful day, as high pressure gave us cool, sunny and dry conditions. Temps were cooler than predicted by the models.

As often happens this time of year, we're going to have mostly dry and nice conditions for the coming week. No significant storms forecast for our area over the coming week.

Of interest is a hurricane, forecast to form (by the NOGAPS) in the Gulf of Mexico during the week and possibly affect TX or LA next weekend. Too early to be sure, but deserves watching.

Sun 9/2: Sunny, dry and warm. High 82

Mon 9/3: Sunny and warm. High 84
