Philly Weekend Weather Forecast -Fri PM
A weak frontal boundary will drop near us and will interact with a southwesterly flow of hot humid air circulating around an area of high pressure.
The exact placement of the frontal boundary is unclear, with the GFS having showers and thunderstorms to our south, while the NAM has the frontal activity in our neck of the woods. The position of the front will determine our high temperatures, cloud cover and precipitation. The NAM over-predicted today's high temps and dew points and it may be overshooting for tomorrow. But I like the way the NAM predicts frontal boundaries, so I think we will have showers tomorrow evening.
Sat 6/30: Sunny hot and humid. High 95. Increasing cloudiness in the late afternoon with showers and thunderstorms during the evening.
Sun 7/1: Sunny, hot and humid. High 94. Showers and thunderstorms possible in the evening.

Philly Weekend Weather Forecast -Sun AM
As mentioned Friday, an easterly flow can sometimes result in more clouds than the models show. that has been the case this morning. The NAM has clouds thinning by afternoon with sunny breaks, while the GFS is more pessimistic, with broken clouds all afternoon. Will go with the NAM model.

Philly Weekend Weather Forecast -Fri PM
A beautiful weekend expected as a continued northeasterly flow around an elongated high pressure system should keep clear skies and cool temperatures. Some fair weather clouds are shown by the MOS forecast. An easterly flow can sometimes produce more clouds than currently predicted. We'll see.
Sat 6/16: Mostly sunny and very pleasant. High 81.
Sun 6/17: Mostly sunny and continued pleasant temps and humidity. Some increase in clouds in the afternoon. High 82.

Philly Weekend Weather Update -Sat AM
A change and some uncertainty in the forecast- a backdoor cold front through NY state is close enough to bring clouds to our area this morning. The NAM MOS has sun breaking out by early afternoon, but cloudiness returns later in the afternoon as the front sags south.
The NAM and GFS differ with the position of the front, with the GFS allowing the front to slip to our south, giving us an easterly flow, while the NAM keeps the front to our north, maintaining a warmer southwesterly flow. I'm not really sure which model is correct here, but I'm leaning towards the NAM based on current satellite imagery.
But what appeared to be a perfect summer weekend now looks a bit more uncertain regarding cloud cover and temperatures.
Sat 6/9: Considerable cloudiness, some sun early afternoon, then cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm late. High 88.
Sun 6/10: Partly sunny, very warm and humid. High 90.

Philly Weekend Weather Forecast -Fri PM
Low pressure and associated cold front will move through the area Friday evening, bringing fairly heavy rain/thundershowers. The front is off the coast Saturday morning, allowing dry conditions. An upper air cyclonic cold flow will result in instability cloudiness Saturday afternoon. While an isolated shower is possible, it's not likely. On Sunday, we'll have more sun than clouds, but an upper air disturbance may bring a chance of a light isolated shower later Sunday afternoon.
Sat 6/2: Rain ends before sunrise. Some sun in the morning, considerable instability cloudiness in the afternoon. Slight chance of a light, isolated sprinkle. High 78.
Sun 6/3: Partly sunny, some cloudiness in the afternoon. A chance of isolated showers later Sunday afternoon and evening. High 79.
