Philadelphia Weather - Sat 12/3 and Sun 12/4
Latest GFS model has a disturbance moving along a frontal boundary to our south. The latest model run has moved the precipitation earlier on Sunday...to Sunday morning. We'll be on the northern fringe.

Sat 12/3: Sunny and cold. High near 40.

Sun 12/4: Cloudy with a chance of light rain or snow mixed with rain in the early morning. Then continued cloudy with a chance of light showers in the afternoon. Little or no accumulation expected. (This situation is evolving, so expect changes.)

Philadelphia Weather Outlook- Sat 12/3 and Sun 12/4
Very cold weather will return over the weekend, with daytime highs only in the 30s. It will be sunny and dry, with warming temperatures and some clouds moving in on Sunday.

For Sunday night and Monday, a disturbance will move up from the southwest and develop on the coast. We may have our first light snow, but it will be a close call. Will watch this.

Sat 12/3: Sunny and cold. High upper 30s.

Sun 12/4: Sunny in the morning, but increasing clouds in the afternoon. Chance of light snow at night, or a mix of rain and snow. Too early to tell.

Philly Weekend Weather - Sat 11/26 and Sun 11/27
The Alberta Clipper fizzled out near Philadelphia, so the 'accumulations' were non-existant. Not surprised, since QPF values of less than 0.08 inches can represent just model 'noise'.

For the rest of Thanksgiving day, the cold front is moving through PA right now. Cold air rushes in during the afternoon and evening.

For the weekend, cold for Friday and Saturday as high pressure builds in. Warm air returns on Sunday with warmer temps but also clouds with an associated warm front.

Sat 11/26: Sunny and continued cold. High 40.

Sun 11/27: Mostly cloudy. Milder. High 55. (No precip expected at this time, but will watch this.)

Winter Weather Update - Wed Eve 10:50 PM
As often happens with Alberta Clippers, the QPF totals have fallen to about 0.05 to 0.08 inches water. That's even a lighter coating than was previously expected. Don't expect much to accumulate by morning, especially with temperatures rising.

Winter Weather Update - Wed Eve
Latest GFS model data is consistent with about 0.12 inches water falling as snow. All models have temperatures rising towards morning, so while this precipitation will fall as snow, it will likely melt on paved surfaces and any wet dusting or coating on lawns will quickly melt in the morning.

Skies clear somewhat in the morning, but windy conditions will persist through the day. A cold front passes through mid-day Thursday and temperatures will plummet into the the very cold 20s by evening.

Philly Weekend Weather - Sat 11/26 and Sun 11/27
Cold weather should continue for the weekend as high pressure builds in. Some cloudiness for Sunday, as warm air returns northward to our west.

Before we get to the weekend, though, an Alberta clipper type system will affect our area tonight into Thanksgiving day. Temperatures aloft will be below freezing, so a light wet snow will fall before daybreak Thursday into the morning. About 0.10 inches water expected to fall, so grassy accumulations may be about a coating to an inch. Accumulations will be minimal, mostly on grassy surfaces.

Sat 11/26: Mostly sunny and cold. High near 40.

Sun 11/27: A mix of clouds and sun. High mid 40s.

Thanksgiving Week and Weekend Weather Outlook
An 'exciting' and interesting week weatherwise coming up. A very unsettled pattern will give us cold, stormy and unsettled weather this week. Starting Monday night into a Tuesday, a significant Noreaster will move up the coast, with heavy rain, winds and colder temps moving in.

Wednesday into Thursday, an Alberta clipper will bring in snow showers and continued cold temperatures on Thanksgiving day.

Unsettled weather into Friday. Things settle down Saturday into Sunday, with milder temps and sunny weather expected to return for the weekend.

Another bout of bad weather the following week is expected.

Philly Weekend Weather - Sat 11/19 and Sun 11/20
Cold high pressure will continue to dominate us over the weekend, giving sunny skies, but cold temps. Early morning temperatures will be near or below freezing on Saturday. Somewhat milder on Sunday. An interesting wintery pattern develops next week as a deep trough and coastal low development is suggested with several model runs. Details seem to change daily, but colder temps and unsettled conditions are in store next week.

There is even the chance of light snow on Thanksgiving!

Sat 11/19: Mostly sunny and seasonably cool. High 48 after a cold morning below 30.

Sun 11/20: Some very early morning cloudiness...then mostly sunny. High 55.

Valley GreenCold high pressure will continue to dominate us over the weekend, giving sunny skies, but cold temps. Early morning temperatures will be near or below freezing. A coastal low will move up into our area on Monday, with wet snow falling in parts of central PA!

Sat 11/19: Mostly sunny and seasonably cool. High upper 40s to near 50 after a cold morning near 30.

Sun 11/20: Mostly sunny in the morning, some increasing cloudiness late in the afternoon. High 52.

Philly Weekend Weather - Sat 11/19 and Sun 11/20
Valley GreenThe upcoming weekend still looks good. But it will seem cold, since it's been so unusually mild. Cold high pressure will be departing on Sunday as a coastal low approaches us on Monday. An interesting scenario for Monday, as this pattern would give us snow in winter.

Sat 11/19: Mostly sunny and seasonably cool. High near 50 after a cold morning in the 30s.

Sun 11/20: Mostly sunny in the morning, perhaps some increasing cloudiness in the afternoon. High 56.

Philly Weekend Weather - Sat 11/19 and Sun 11/20
The upcoming weekend will be transitional, as a cold flow over the end of the week retreats northward. It's many days away, but look for mostly dry conditions and a mix of clouds and sun. More clouds on Sunday.

Sat 11/19: A mix of sun and clouds. High in the mid 50s. Look for changes in the forecast.

Sun 11/20: Mostly cloudy. High in the low 50s. Look for changes in the forecast.

Philly Weekend Weather - Sat 11/12 and Sun 11/13
A strong cold front will have moved through by Friday, but the cold (actually seasonably cold) air won't last too long, as high pressure will build in to allow warming conditions over the weekend. Following the weekend, warm moist air will bring clouds and rain possible on Monday afternoon.

Sat 11/12: Sunny and seasonably cool. High mid 50s.

Sun 11/13: Mostly sunny and milder. Some higher clouds possible as warm air returns. High near 60.

The nice weather of this week will be changing a bit over the weekend, as an upper trough and cold front will approach our area on Sunday. This feature is new on the maps and the timing and depth of the upper trough will likely change as we get closer to the weekend.

Sat 11/5: Mostly sunny. High upper 60s to near 70.

Sun 11/6: Cloudy and continued mild. High low 60s. There's uncertainty about showers for Sunday at this time.
