Weather Update- Sun 1 PM
The models have been over-predicting thunderstorms for our area, although the MOS (Model Output Statistics) haven kept the chances of rain never much higher than 60%.
It's also been tough to nail down the cloud cover each day, with today (Sunday) having more sun than I expected.
That said, both the GFS and NAM cranked out precipitation for this afternoon and this radar is beginning to support this forecast with showers and thunderstorms developing in Berks and Lancaster county and moving east. The early afternoon should see many areas having showers and thunderstorms as predicted.

The models continue to trend towards a less wet and less cloudy weekend. The boundary line between warm moist air and cooler air north will be near our region. Showers and thunderstorms have broken out yesterday along this boundary, but these showers haven't been able to make it into Philadelphia. A more distinct boundary (front) moves though Sunday afternoon with showers and thunderstorms more likely.

Philadelphia Weekend Weather Outlook -Wed PM
An interaction between a southwesterly moist flow around a Bermuda high pressure system and a slowly developing upper air trough will result in unsettled weather beginning Thursday. The GFS model shows this interaction results in the development of a low pressure system over us on Sunday. The details are not well-defined, so expect changes in the forecast specifics. Unsettled with an increasing chance of showers appears to be the trend.

Sun 6/6: Cloudy with rain likely. Humid. High 80.
