Looking at the long range, next week continues colder than normal until next Thursday.

Philadelphia Weekend Weather Forecast - Thu PM
A continuing upper cyclonic flow coupled with a chilly northwesterly surface wind will keep temperatures more than 10 degrees below normal over the weekend. This same area of cold weather will suppress the approaching low pressure system on Sunday to our south. Previously, it was expected that we might have significant wet snow, but we will be on the northern fringe. Some light snow showers/flurries is all that is expected now on Sunday. But any drift northward will give us the chance of light snow. Little if any accumulation is expected

Looking at the long range, next week continues colder than normal until next Thursday.

Sat 3/26: Sunny, breezy and unseasonably cold. Some mid-level clouds later in the afternoon. High 43.

Sun 3/27: Cloudy, breezy and cold. Some light snow flurries or wet snow showers possible, especially late afternoon. High 42.

    Philly Weekend Weather Update- Sat
High pressure will move away on Saturday, allowing low pressure and its cold front to approach from the west. The models are showing a heavy rain event, with 1- 2 inches of rain possible.

There continues to be differences between the NAM and GFS models. The NAM also has much more cloudiness on Saturday than the GFS. Both show heavy rain on Sunday, but the GFS has rain starting early Sunday morning and ending early evening; the NAM shifts the rain into Sunday afternoon and evening.

Difficult to say which is correct, but I'm blending the NAM with the GFS forecast.

Sat 3/5: Mostly cloudy and mild. Some breaks of sun mid-day. High 56.

Sun 3/6: Cloudy with rain beginning in the mid-morning, then quite heavy at times through the evening. High 57.

    Philly Weekend Weather Forecast- Friday
High pressure will move away on Saturday, allowing low pressure and its cold front to approach from the west. The models are showing a heavy rain event, with close to 2 inches of rain possible.

There have been timing differences between the NAM and GFS models. The NAM also has much more cloudiness on Saturday than the GFS. Both show heavy rain on Sunday, but the GFS has rain starting early Sunday morning and ending early evening; the NAM shifts the rain into Sunday afternoon and evening.

Difficult to say which is correct, but I'm going with the GFS with forecast. The NAM may prove to be correct, though. Sat 3/5: Mostly sunny and mild. Some clouds late in the afternoon. High 56.

Sun 3/6: Cloudy with rain, quite heavy at times. High 57.
