Philadelphia Weekend Weather Forecast -Wed PM
The extremely deep low pressure system affecting the Midwest will shear off to the north and west, as it drags a cold front through late Thursday.
A similar scenario to last weekend, as a cold snap Friday into Saturday is expected to moderate quickly as the jet stream relaxes to our north on Sunday. Some unknowns for the weekend-- there's the possibility of upper air disturbances bringing some instability cloudiness for Saturday. Additionally, as warm air returns on Sunday, some mid level cloudiness is possible. Will have to wait until Friday for these upper air features to clarify.
Sat 10/30: Sunny breezy and cooler. Some cloudiness possible in the afternoon. High 58.
Sun 10/31: Mostly sunny and a bit milder. Some clouds move in during the late afternoon. High 62.
Climate Forecast Discussion: Solar cycle 24 continues to ramp up. Total solar irradiance has increased. Add this increased thermal background to the greenhouse warming and I expect to see much milder temps this fall and winter. Additionally, the increased energy available for low pressure development will likely result in some additional monster storms. Rain or ice storms are more likely than snow for us.
