Philadelphia Weekend Weather Update- Sat AM
Some differences in last night's models, as the NAM delays the bulk of the heavy rain until this evening here in Philadelphia; the GFS continues its forecast of heavy rain by late morning and early afternoon through early evening.

As suggested in my earlier forecast (based on the NAM), the morning hours may have a break in the action with even some bright spots, but showers should return to the area by afternoon as an upper air area of spin/vorticity (vort max) moves over us from the southwest.

Increasingly heavy showers, thundershowers and rain will develop ahead of the cold front today, especially by afternoon and continue into early evening. Rainfall amounts may approach 2 inches. (The GFS continues not to show any true dry periods for Sat morning, although precip will likely be very light and intermittent this morning, according to the NAM model. It's not clear whether the NAM is correct with the bulk of the rain waiting until the evening. I guess we'll see.)

Sunday will be partly cloudy and windy and cooler.

Sat 10/24: Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms, increasingly likely and heavy by afternoon, (although the NAM model delays the heaviest rain until the evening). Breezy, mild. High 70

Sun 10/25: Partly sunny, breezy and cooler. High 61
