Philadelphia Weekend Weather Outlook- Thurs AM
The specifics of the forecast for the weekend remain uncertain. The basic scenario involves the development of a sharp upper air trough in the Great Lakes area, associated the passage of a cold front on Friday. Last night's models differ from previous runs in not having the upper trough close off. As a result, things may clear mid day on Sunday instead of lingering into Monday. So positive trends already in the works.

It's still not clear whether the rain will be well-organized, continuous or intermittent on Saturday. The surface reflection of this upper trough is indistinct. It is possible that the models are over-doing the rain intensity and coverage on Saturday, so it may not turn out to be the washout previously forecast.

Sat 10/17: Tentative: Cloudy with intermittent, scattered showers and light drizzle. Breezy and cool. High 50.

Sun 10/18: Tentative: Cloudy and damp early breaks for brighter skies in the afternoon. Windy. High 54
