Philadelphia Weekend Weather Outlook- Thur PM
A front associated with a continuing highly amplified pattern in the eastern US will push through this evening and cold air will be filtering in for the next several days. A clipper disturbance and a coastal low (in the Atlantic) will interact on Saturday night and Sunday. There's the chance of snow showers, possibly giving a coating, late Saturday night into Sunday morning. It's unlikely that much will amount to this, but we need to watch the interaction between these systems.
A warmup next week with rain will be followed by another blast of cold air for later next week. The cold pattern continues through the third week of December. Long range, we may get into a warmer pattern just before Xmas.
Sat 12/6: Partly sunny/cloudy and cold. High 40. Chance of snow showers at night.
Sun 12/7: Cloudy early, some snow showers possible, then a mix of clouds and some sun. Windy. High 36.
An anomalous lull in the sunspot number has resulted in many months of reduced solar energy reaching us. I believe this will give us an unseasonably cold (and stormy) winter. I first predicted this scenario in my October 17th blog entry.. This is going to be a very interesting winter.
