THURSDAY FORECAST

The clouds moved in just as forecast.  The models did pretty good with this forecast, especially the HRRR.

High pressure moves away as a warm front begins its approach through our area.

Most of the models have the dynamics associated with this warm front bypassing our area to the far north and west. Clouds will move in, but precipitation should miss us during the daytime Thursday.

For Thursday—

  • Sunny in the morning, clouds move in about 2-4 PM
  • Slight chance of scattered showers early evening
  • High temp NBM 68.6°sd 2.4°   (HRRR 71.6°)
  • Winds  light in the morning increasing  to 15 mph from the SW In  the afternoon.

Brief Update Wed 08:55 AM — Model-predicted high temperatures in the Philadelphia area on Friday are trending warmer- a summer-like Friday!  High temps most likely in the mid 80s with dew points in the 60s.

Truly summer-like weather after these unseasonably chilly past few days!  It will be breezy and increasingly windy/gusty later in the afternoon.

A cold front approaches later Friday afternoon with showers and thunderstorms moving from northwest to southeast.  Current predicted time frame for the showers/thunderstorms is 4 -7 pm for the immediate PHL area (NAM) but closer to 9 PM (GFS)
