A big change in the forecast- the area of heavy rain has shifted off to the east, instead of remaining over us.    This change was first noted in last night’s models.   Mid level clouds are expected today, with brightening skies early afternoon, but the clouds aren’t expected to fully break.  There’s a continued low chance of highly scattered light showers, but much of the day will be rain free.

A quick update: High pressure will hold off precipitation in the PHL  area until 6-10PM.   Expect  cloudiness to build in between 4 and 6 PM.

Monday is looking very wet- about 1.5 inches of rain possible with a break in the action by mid to late afternoon.

Latest models keep us dry today, Saturday.  Any thunderstorms should be to our west and north.

Both the NAM and GFS show showers and rain moving in late afternoon Sunday.  Heaviest rain on Monday may be in NJ, according to the NAM.
