TUESDAY FORECAST & WEEK OUTLOOK

The instability cloudiness and showers we had today will dissipate tonight as cold high pressure builds in for Tuesday behind the departing upper air low.

Tuesday will be

  • Sunny with some fair weather clouds
  • Unseasonably cool. High temp 57.2º sd 1.6º
  • Winds from the NW  7-10 mph, occasional higher gusts.

The anomalous dip in the jet bringing this cool weather will transform to more of a ridge pattern by Thursday and especially Friday.

A Bermuda high will bring much warmer temperatures.   Friday’s high temps will likely approach 81º (model blend), but some thunderstorms later on Friday will move in ahead of another cold front—

The extended range models show a much more seasonable temperature pattern developing after this week.

MONDAY FORECAST

Clouds forecast for Sunday morning never materialized.

For Monday — Surface low pressure combined with an upper air low moving to our north will bring a weak cold front through early Monday morning.

Instability with the upper low causes clouds to linger and allows the chance of light showers and sprinkles through much of the early part of the day.

  • Cloudy in the morning with widely scattered light sprinkles and showers, especially early.
  • In the afternoon, a mix of clouds, sunshine.  Still chance of a sprinkle.  Breaks of sun more likely as the afternoon progresses.
  • High temp 59.1º sd 1.6º
  • Winds 7-10 mph W. Increasingly gusty 17 mph  during the day.
  • Total QPF 0.06 inches rain
