A cold front is moving through tonight as another dip in the jet stream affects our area for the weekend.
For Saturday, partly to mostly cloudy, but with skies brighter than today. High temps near 50.
For Sunday, noticeably cooler, and mostly sunny with high temps near 47.
A change in weather pattern for next week, as a deep low pressure in the middle of the country brings a southwesterly flow of moisture and warmth. An eventual large scale amplification in the jet stream will bring colder weather by the end of next week.
High pressure that has moved in Tuesday and the early Wednesday will move offshore as a weakening low pressure system and associated weak cold front approaches late Wednesday. Clouds will increase Wednesday afternoon, but the lack of upper air support will cause the low to weaken. Expect little precipitation.
A light shower is expected Wednesday night and possibly some light spits early Thursday morning, Thanksgiving Day.
Later Thursday morning into afternoon, it will be mostly cloudy, but some clearing possible late afternoon. High temps near a seasonable average of 51-53.
Outlook for the weekend- A new dip in the jet stream will cause low pressure to develop and intensify Friday evening and night with some very light showers. The low departs Saturday morning, with the Saturday being partly sunny/cloudy and a bit colder and breezy.
An amplified jet stream moves a cold front through late Saturday afternoon into early evening.
Saturday will be sunny and mild for most of the day with high temperatures in the low to mid 60s. Clouds increase about 3-4 pm, then a brief light shower about 5-7pm with a dramatic shift and increase in winds from the northwest. Temperatures drop rapidly into the 40s.
Sunday will be mostly cloudy, continued windy and chilly with high temperatures only about 45.
