I was out early today and noticed the cumulus was really building in some spots. Some dark clouds and a quick look at the radar- sure enough, there were some scattered showers. Apparently there was enough low level wind convergence to cause this.
The models really blew this forecast- Just when you think the computer models are incredible, you get this sort of poor forecast.
The string of picture perfect weekends we’ve had recently will be broken Saturday, as both models have a weak surface low moving just to our south. Interestingly, this is the first weekend in awhile where there is disagreement between the NAM and GFS models- the NAM develops some showers in the afternoon, but the GFS just has cloudiness. Difficult to tell which will be correct.
