Just a quick update about the weekend. Earlier this week, the models were showing significant rain for Sunday.
The trend has been to suppress the rain to the south of Philadelphia. So the weekend is looking much better than previously predicted.
I’ll update Friday evening.
It’s cloudy this morning and I rechecked the models, which now suggest that Saturday will be more cloudy than previously predicted. The latest HRRR even shows some light showers and sprinkles in the mid morning! And, the HRRR now includes a chance of showers today, early evening. There’s still a chance of some sunny bright spots around noontime, but mostly cloudy seems to capture it for now.
With the increased cloud cover, the high temperatures appear to be only around 65 for Saturday.
After the warm front passes this evening, things look better for Sunday.
The models still show mostly sunny skies and warm temps for Sunday. It will be breezy. Little if any chance of showers as well, although if the change for Saturday is any indication, I may have to update Sunday’s forecast as well.
Minor update made 10:30pm Friday–
High pressure will drift off the mid Atlantic coast Saturday. Saturday will start cool but will quickly warm up. Mostly sunny skies for Saturday morning, with periods of cloudiness in the afternoon as a warm front approaches. High 72.
Sunday will be mostly sunny and warm. High near 83. Cloudiness increases late afternoon and evening as a weak cold front approaches. There’s a chance of showers Sunday evening.
