Rose-breasted Grosbeaks
The rainy weather hasn’t affected what seems to be an annual appearance of Rose-breasted Grosbeaks at our backyard feeders the first week in May.
This year, we’ve had at least 3 males and 1 observed female. (The males have the rose color breasts, the females got short-changed on appearance, with no vivid colors but clearly a ‘gross beak”.)

We’ve had almost two inches of rain today, and people are probably wondering if they will need an ark. Not likely.
The closed mid level low that has rotated rain into our area should open and rotate away during the daytime on Saturday. Saturday will start cloudy and damp with a chance of scattered showers early, but skies should brighten and some sunshine should break out by later Saturday afternoon. High 64 late in the afternoon.
A weak cold front moves through before daybreak on Sunday, possibly with a light shower. Sunday should become mostly sunny and mild. High 71.
