I’ve been meaning to post these photos taken the first week in May. Around this time each year, we get a couple of glimpses of these fantastic birds on our feeders.
(They stay around a week before going to their summer vacation home further north, although one past year they had the brood of young grosbeaks somewhere in our backyard trees.)

A few days ago I posted some pictures of the male Rose-breasted Grosbeak. We knew the female would show up and indeed she has. Except for the beak, she doesn’t look like the male Grosbeak at all.
