Saturday Weather Update

The night time run of the NAM is less impressive with the thunderstorm dynamics for today.  The threat of severe weather seems not likely.

Both the NAM and GFS show a line of thunderstorms developing west o f Philadelphia about 2 PM and moving through our area between 2-5 PM.  Areas of NJ and east are most likely to get the heaviest precipitation.

1pm  on-the-road update:  models still show some showers but the dynamics are looking weak.

6pm Update : thunderstorms have popped up west of Philadelphia and moving east; a bit later than had been forecast.

Philly Weekend Weather Forecast

A frontal system will move through our area Friday night into Saturday morning and slowly through NJ on Saturday afternoon.  Several days ago, it looked like there might be showers on Saturday in Philadelphia, but right now, it appears that skies will partly sunny  during the day.  Highs near 90 and humid.   Showers possible in PHL during the afternoon,  but most likely in NJ, especially eastward, at the shore.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and very warm.  High 90.  Much less humid.
