(URMA= “UnRestricted Mesoscale Analysis”)
The URMA represents actual temperatures and conditions and is used for model verification. Since it represents corrected/actual observations, the URMA is is released with a six hour delay to allow for corrected data input.
The URMA is the 6 hour delayed, data-corrected version of the “RTMA” (Real-Time Mesoscale Analysis). The RTMA is available every 15 minutes, as the name suggests, in real time.
