RTMA – “Real Time Mesoscale Analysis” model
The RTMA model is run every 15 minutes and is available 15 minutes afterwards. It is basically an almost-live, almost real-time source of current weather conditions and includes such things as current temperature, cloud cover, pressure and previous hour’s rainfall.
Each RTMA is converted six hours later to a more verified data form, the “URMA”, which is used for true model performance verification and NBM model guidance.
