WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST

Posted Saturday 05/16/26 @ 9:31 AM — A minor update in the forecast. Several models (ECMWF, NAM-NEST) show a small warm air boundary setting up over Philadelphia around 1 AM Sunday morning. These models have a fast shower moving through at that time. Total rainfall less than 0.05″.

Originally Posted Fri 5:05 PM —This weekend promises to be mostly sunny and dry. A warm air advection will occur on Saturday into Sunday as southerly and southwesterly surface winds bring in above average temperatures.

Blocking high pressure in the western Atlantic will keep any precipitation to our far west on Saturday and Sunday.

The RRFS is showing a cluster of thunderstorms developing Sunday midnight into predawn Monday morning. Not sure if this will come to pass.

Sunny and increasingly warm. Windy in the afternoon. Highs: Blue Bell- 82º Philadelphia 82º ±1.5º. Average sd and uncertainty.

Sunday

Sunshine through thin high cirrus clouds. An occasional period of cloudiness. Less windy. Highs (Model Blend): Blue Bell- 87 º Philadelphia 88º ±2.0º Average sd and uncertainty.

The models continue to predict hot weather for Monday and Tuesday. Highs in the low 90s Monday and mid 90s Tuesday!.
